Walter Carrol Williams, was born in Waco, McLennan Co., Texas on Aug 25, 1927. He was a farmer and rancher in the Mart/Prairie Hill area since the young age of 14. Walter married Elaine Todd on December 27, 1949 in Coolidge, Texas. He was a devout Christian, serving as a deacon in the Mart Church of Christ for many years. He served in many different capacities: the United States Army; the National Guard; an officer in the Limestone County Farm Bureau; Mart Panther Club, Councilman for the City of Mart; Farmer's Double Circle Co-Op Board; Prairie Hill Ex Student Association; Prairie Hill Cemetery Assn; ECA for the M.A.R.T. ambulance service; M.A.R.T. Ambulance Board of Directors and the Mart Housing Authority. Walter was preceded in death by his father, Walter Dawson Williams in 1943, his mother Eula Williams Bradshaw in 1978; sister Betty Jo Little in 1986; stepfather, Carl Bradshaw in 1992. Walter is survived by his wife of 59 � years, Elaine Todd Williams; daughters Pat Curry and husband Billy Tom of Mart; Beverly Fambro and husband Alex of Stephenville/Huckabay; Lanelle Crawford and husband Russ of Kerens. One brother, Gary Bradshaw and wife Martha of Mart; Grandchildren John Walter Desmuke, Camron Fambro, Courtney Robertson, Cadey Gillert, Kelley Crawford, Billy and Lindy Curry. Great-grandchildren: Sidney and Sadie Robertson, Paige Gillert, Reagan and Harley Desmuke, Brittnee, Scotti, and Jamie Williams, Ryan, Amanda and Sarah Curry; and many cousins, nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be Saturday, September 12, 2009 at 2 PM at the Mart Church of Christ. Interment will be in the Prairie Hill Cemetery. Visitation will begin at Noon on Friday with the family receiving visitors from 5-7 PM at the Mart Church of Christ.
