Wanda Kay Gardner passed away on April 7, 2022 in Amarillo, Texas at the age of 79.  Graveside services will be 2:00 p.m., Saturday, April 9, 2022 in the Prairie Grove Cemetery.

Wanda was born July 2, 1942 in Monroe, Wisconsin to Earl W. and Helen L. (Miller) Sarbacker.  She married George Harlan Gardner on May 22, 1994.

Wanda’s life revolved around her family.  She was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister.   In her eyes, there was nothing like being a grandmother, she cherished her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  Wanda enjoyed cooking for her family and her family will be the first to tell you, she was an excellent cook.  She also had a green thumb and could grow any kind of plants, indoors or outdoors.  

She was preceded in death by her parents, Earl and Helen Sarbacker; daughter, Tammy Petty; and brother, Roland Sarbacker.

Wanda is survived by her loving husband, George H. Gardner; children, Greg Abbott and wife, Sue of Kilgore, Tina Tischer and husband, Rick, and Mike Abbott of Dallas; 10 grandchildren; 23 great grandchildren; sister, Yvonne Mahlkuck; brother, Harland Sarbacker and wife Donna and a number of nieces and nephews.
