Mrs. Wanda Joyce Crawford Taylor, 62, of Mexia passed away, Monday, May 10, 2010 in Waco. Funeral services will be 2 PM Thursday, May 13, 2010, in the Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home Chapel in Mexia with the Reverend John Evans officiating. Interment will follow in the Shiloh Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Ray Forrester, Buddy Stewart, Jim Boyd, Scott Smith, J.L. Levingston and Richard Hawthorn. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dennis Wilson, R.T. Beck, Mike Bell, Roy DeFriend, Thomas Graves and John Kindon. Visitation with the family will be Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 PM at the funeral home. Mrs. Taylor was born Jan. 2, 1948 in Lufkin to Ferman Edgar and Ruby Wingo Crawford. She enjoyed her family, her career and her church work. Judge Taylor as she became known, served as Justice of the Peace, Precinct 2 in Limestone Co. for almost 20 years. An active member of the Forest Glade Baptist church, she served as music leader and as a Sunday School teacher. She was preceded in death by her parents, her step-father, Gay Stubblefield, her husband, Noah L. (Buddy) Taylor and brother, Lewis Crawford. Survivors include her children, Michael Johnson of Virginia, Dean Elliot and wife Rebecca of Garland, Daughter, Destiny Price and husband Otis of Mexia, grandchildren, Nathan and Jeremy Price and April and Amy Price, all of Mexia. She is further survived by her brothers, Grady Crawford and wife Colleen of Freeport and Billy Mac Crawford of Groveton and by a special friend Louis Price, Sr. of Mexia and many Nieces and Nephews. Memorials may be made to the Forest Glade Baptist Church.
