Wesley Ray Shelley, 88, of Teague, passed away April 19, 2016 in Waco, Texas. Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m., Friday, April 22, 2016 at Blair-Stubbs Chapel with Bro. Richard Gillett officiating. Interment will follow in the Antioch Cemetery in Luna (near Teague). Visitation with the family will be 6-8 p.m., Thursday, at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home. Wesley was born August 2, 1927 in Luna, Texas to Wylie Jack and Jewell Gurtrude Lamberth Shelley. He has lived most of his life in Luna where he owned and operated his ranch. He also worked, for a number of years, as a railroad brakeman prior to retirement. Wesley was happiest when he was spending time with family and friends, working on his ranch and taking care of, as well as, counting his cows. He also enjoyed fishing and going to his cabin. He was preceded in death by his parents. Wesley is survived by his partner, Ivy Jene Solley; daughter-in-law, Kay Gray; granddaughter, Donna Webb and husband, Timmy; great grandchildren, T. J. Webb and Leroy Webb; and special friends, Don McLeod, Charles Johnson and Donnie Turner. Pallbearers will be Timmy Webb, T. J. Webb, J. T. Barrentine, Greg Latham, Don McLeod and Donny Turner. Charles Johnson will serve as an honorary pallbearer.
