Wilmer was born on November 16, 1933 in Point Enterprise to Alton B. and Addie Bond Kerzee. He attended school in Point Enterprise and Mexia High School where he graduated in 1951. He served his country in the United States Army for two years. Following his military service, he returned to Texas to attend and ultimately graduate from the University of Texas. After his career with Burroughs, he returned to Albuquerque, the city he loved, to establish Kerzee Real Estate LLC and Qualifying Broker. He was operating this company at the time of his death. Wilmer had planned and invited all of the Kerzee family to a reunion in Mexia, which was held at the old fort, July 10, 11 and 12. Ninety three members of the Kerzee family attended this reunion. He was so happy to have so many of his family together as this had been a longtime plan of his. He is survived by his six children, Cherie and Nick Stames of Evanston, Ill, Robert and Sherrie Kerzee of Dewey, AZ, Ruthie and Paul Snagel of Chicago, Ill, Christy and Jim Oringer of Lake Barrington, Ill, Jeanne and Dave Debarr of Cave Creek, AZ and Erik and Jane Kerzee of Colorado, his 11 grandchildren that were his pride and joy, Aleks, Tria, Luke, Adele, Luther, Justin, Daniel, Grace, Kendall, Sierra and Aida Grace. Kerzee of Lima, Ohio, Richard B. and Bula Kerzee of Mexia and Maurice and Pam Kerzee of Bay City, Texas, a host of nieces and nephews and by Dr. Rosalie Davis, a very dear friend and companion of Albuquerque, NM.
