Zella Ray

Mrs. Zella Mae Ray, 85, formerly of Mexia, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 28, 2013, in Houston, Texas. Funeral services will be 1PM, Tuesday, April 2, 2013 at Blair-Stubbs Chapel with Rev. Larry Emerson and Rev. James Walker officiating. Interment will follow in the Mexia Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 6-8 p.m., Monday at Blair-Stubbs Funeral Home. Zella was born January 17, 1928 in Donie, Texas to Henry S. and Lula Louise Ezell Rainer. She married Bruce Edward Ray on December 22, 1942 in Houston, Texas. She loved the Lord and her family and friends. She was a dedicated wife and Mother whose goal in life was to take care of her family. Zella's warmth, love and caring ways were evident to all who knew her; she had a big heart and friendly smile. She was a member of the Assembly of God Church. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Bruce Ray; grandson, Jeffery Nall; three brothers; and three sisters. Zella is survived by six children, Carolyn Zreineh and husband, Anton of Spring, Kathy Nall and husband, Jackie of Houston, Louis Ray and wife, Becky of Conroe, Leslie and Ricky Ray of Houston; Angela Tweedle and husband, Danny of Mexia and adopted daughter, Sandy of Mexia; 16 grandchildren; and 32 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons, Steven Zreineh, Kevin Nall, Jason Ray, Jordan Zreineh, Cameron Del Favero and Oscar Gutierrez.
