John was born and raised in Mexia and started working at the funeral home at a young age. After high school, John attended San Antonio College where he received his training in Mortuary Science. In 1981 he was granted a license from the State of Texas to practice funeral directing and embalming.
John is active not only at the funeral home but various local groups and organizations. He is currently serving as President of the Mexia Cemetery Association, Chairman of the board of directors at Parkview Regional Hospital, and a member of the Providence Hospice Advisory Board. He is also an active member and past president of the Mexia Rotary Club, Springfield Masonic Lodge, and First Baptist Church in Mexia.

Kathleen, co-owner with her husband, John, is a licensed funeral director and memorialist.
She graduated from the Dallas Institute of Mortuary Science in Dallas and obtained her license in 1999. Kathy focuses the majority of her time at Blair-Stubbs Memorials but is always available to help out at the funeral home.
Kathy is an open and sincere person who people find to be very easy to converse with and express their feelings.
Knowledgeable in all areas of the monument and funeral business, Kathy is always prepared to help when called upon.
Ray Jones has been a funeral director and embalmer for the past 49 years. Ray has experience in both small and large funeral home setting.
He is an active member of the First Baptist Church in Mexia where he has taught Sunday School for the past number of years.
Ray has a wealth of knowledge of the funeral business and is always willing to help his fellow man.
Collin Forrest Stubbs is the third generation of the Stubbs family to be active in the local funeral business. After high school, Collin attended the Dallas Institute of Mortuary Science where he earned his funeral director and embalming licenses in 2010.
Like his father, John, Collin is not only active at the funeral home but involved in many other groups and organizations too. He is a member and past master of the Masonic Lodge and currently serves as president of the Mexia Rotary Club.
Blair-Stubbs is very fortunate to have Betty Spurlock taking care of the day-to-day office duties. Her attention to detail and warm and friendly smile means so much to the people she is able to help.
From filing insurance and government forms to being helpful on the telephone, Betty is always willing to assist.
Bobby Jack Liles, a familiar face around Mexia is a true asset to our firm.
Bobby has spent his life serving others through his occupations and National Guard Service.
Bobby is an active member and deacon of the Calvary Baptist Church in Mexia and a member of the Springfield Masonic Lodge.
Jennifer Capers joined Blair-Stubbs in February 2022 following her retirement from MSSLC as Food Service Director and Dietitian. She is married to Bill Capers, and they have two sons, Manton and Logan. She is active in her community and her church, FBC Wortham.
Jennifer is here to provide support to the Office Manager and Directors with an emphasis on Quality Improvement. She enjoys working with families to help meet their needs and concerns during the loss of a loved one.
